Generative AI at VCU

Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI or GenAI) refers to systems that can create new content, such as text, images, music, or other digital content in response to prompts provided by its user. GenAI models are trained on large datasets and use this knowledge to generate outputs that mimic or draw inspiration from their training examples.

Some common tools in use at VCU are Google Gemini, Microsoft CoPilot, and Adobe Firefly. These systems can generate content, provide insights, summarize, and help streamline our tasks. For a full list of VCU approved tools available for use review our AI Tools and Technologies page.
